The store that holds the dreams ...

“The Tiny Tienda” is the store that holds the dreams and realizations of “Wholesome Home and Garden.” It has products which allow us to respect the earth and ourselves in our product choices.
For the garden there are Dr. Earth Organic fertilizers, plant based Safer Soap insecticide concentrate, and “Ant-b-gon” powerful ant eliminator. Hard to find women sized gardening gloves and Gorilla tape for the super tape jobs. Row-cover, 2 meters wide, can help protect your garden beds and still allow UV rays and water to penetrate.

The vivero (plant nursery) has 1, 2, & 3 year old trees which like to grow in Baja…endemics and other tropical flowering, fruit and herb trees. Also, large succulents already a display size and some in beautiful ceramic planters. In Oct. and Nov. flower and vegetable starts will be available.

For the kitchen there are biodegradable dish soaps and laundry soap. Practical items like wine stoppers, stainless steel tea balls, measuring cups and spoons, sexy bottle openers, stainless steel water jars, compact camping cork screws, Farberware meat thermometer and a grill basket for fish. Beautiful items such as tule reed trivets from Mainland Mexico and Guatamalan fabric bottle carries. Table size candle lanterns help with outdoor entertaining.
From the sewing machines of two maestras come aprons of 2 styles in sweet cotton prints and Guatamalan yardage. Also, clothe gardening hats and utility belts, and canvas shopping bags.

For personal care there is an assortment of luscious bar soaps, many brands and pure ingredients. Also a variety of “good” toothpastes without fluoride and with healing herbs and oils, also in traveling size for the purse or pack or glove box. Tom, Jason, Alvera are producers of fine deodorants without harmful ingredients. Alba, EO, and Nature’s Gate are represented in their fine shampoos and conditioners.

There is a selection of Dr. Bonner’s pure castile soaps in full and camping sizes. Essential in Baja is sunscreen Chapstick, SPF 15 and 30. Working from the inside out, there is a Super Easy Colon Cleanse, which leaves you feeling clean and light.

For those into Feng Shui enhancers there are faceted crystals for Chi distribution and paper lamp shades with dragons, peacocks and dolphins….an easy fix for the bare light bulb. The rainbow wind spinners with long telescoping poles are a delight to watch and attract Chi and comments.

There are art cards and matted prints of local artist Roxanne Sparks and photographers Amir Arberman and Laurie Pearce Bauer.

“Wholesome Home and Garden” is the creation of Virginia Moonstone Mazzetti, who is a Permaculture Design Consultant and teaches Permaculture classes and gives demonstrations on her land. She has been growing endemic, draught tolerant trees for sale for 4 years, and has some rare and beautiful species. Virginia is a Feng Shui consultant and teacher and can help you solve some of your design problems before you begin construction, or after you have lived with the mistake long enough.
“As a Minister of Fun I vowed: “Don’t do it if it isn’t fun, but if you have to do it, make it fun!” With that in mind: Up the Chi, Live in Harmony with Nature, and live your daily life as purely as you can to stay as healthy as you can…so you can enjoy all the fun now and always after…”

The Tiny Tienda

This past year has been busy with the construction of  a new building.
So much work goes into a nice building from beginning to end!
It is now getting well stocked with natural products, art and plants.
There will be a post in the Baja Western Onion soon with hours of operation
and a list of items carried. A labor of love, so hope you will all come by!!
